What does it take for a freelancer to know your Niche? It could cost you, your time, finances and effort, if you enter the freelancing world without truly knowing your Niche. It is never easy to differentiate yourself from the others when you are still a beginner. It is a process, a never ending process.

So what is a Niche? I first heard this term in the freelancing and business world. They will never tell you what Niche is good for you. You discover It yourself. You may settle for less at first but eventually you will be able to discover your One true Niche. Think of Niche as an expertise, it a field where your excel, a market that you can focus on. It is a service that you can provide with ease and passion.
Find a mentor. The best ones in the freelancing industry.
You can find in the internet a lot of choices for a good freelancing coaches. Read testimonials and choose the best coaches and courses for freelancers. They will guide you in knowing your Niche. They are experts in their field, you may either intern for them or take a lesson for them. YouTube and Google may help you but not as much as what you can learn from a detailed mentorship.
Review your skills set.
Create a list of your strength and weaknesses. From this list, you should be able to see common threads and start narrowing your experience into a short list of the things that you not only love doing but are also the best at.
Choose your Niche through experience.
“Be persevering, don't be afraid to do trial and error, and learn from it.”
Experience the freelancing world first before your choose your Niche. I heard a lot from fellow freelancer that they have been rejected many times by clients and business owners. This is the result of not truly learning your chosen Niche. You need patience to find, experience and discover your true Niche.
Good luck Freelancers!
